About Me.
William McDaniel Jr., the founder of The Andre Morris Foundation and a California State Correctional Officer for 30 years, has dedicated his career to rehabilitating inmates. Recently, he was voted Officer of the Year. In 2023, McDaniel retired from his position as a State of California Correctional Officer and now serves as the Executive Director of The Andre Morris Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed in collaboration with Community Correctional Officers of Color.

During his twenty-nine years of service with the California Department of Corrections, he completed a degree in metaphysics. He found this branch of philosophy fascinating because it explores fundamental principles of existence, including abstract concepts such as being, knowledge, substance, cause, identity, time, and space. In 2017 and 2018, he received a congressional commendation from Congressman John Garamendi as well as a Certificate of Recognition from Senator Bill Dodd.
